As a photographer, I have been involved in creating commercial and fashion images since the mid-1980s. While working for clients such as Macy’s, Robinsons and Dillard’s, I photographed women’s, men’s and children’s fashion for catalogs and direct mail pieces. Other clients include 20th Century Fox, Sprint, Intel and W Magazine. Local Phoenix clients, such as the Borgata of Scottsdale, Biltmore Fashion Park, Westcor properties and Antigua Sportswear, round out my commercial experience.

I have now changed my focus. Working one-on-one with individuals directly provides me greater creative freedom and satisfaction – a facet of photography I felt was missing from my commercial pursuits of the past.

 

Recently, I have been photographing kids involved in various sporting activities. These are not your usual team photos. I realized watching my own young son play baseball with his teammates that our children are as passionate about their sports as any big leaguer or pro athlete.  Photographing children, serious about their athletic pursuits, is the goal. No clean uniforms or picture "perfect" representations. I am looking for the kids that are "living their sport," be it baseball, football, soccer, lacrosse, horseback riding, polo, cricket, BMX, motorcross, basketball, rock climbing  or any other sport where these great athletes in training get dirty and sweaty.  If your children do not have a favorite sport, they can still be photographed looking as if they are the best of the best.
 

Creating images of kids with a sincere sporting attitude that will become a treasured keepsake for their parents, children, and their children for years to come will be the result.  All prints are finished on archival, museum quality paper which will outlast all of us by many years.
